To Jessica

I'm thinking of a little girl,
Who lives in a magical place,
She's surrounded by Hobbits and Elves,
Cheering them on through her day.

This little girl, who, with a sparkle in her eye,
Teaches the children there,
In this magical land,
where dwells hobbits and elves with pointed ears.

This little girl now fully grown,
Teaches the children wonders they haven't known,
Hazzuh, she shouts as she helps them create,
Those wonders without a mistake.

Though it's true she is known by another name,
In that land of Elves ears and Hobbit holes,
She is part of a family who loves her,
And, considered every bit a Hall.

From Darkness Into Light

FROM DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

Cold, mechanical, that's what I'll be.
It's off to work I go, It's back to the grind, that's what I need.
Forget dreams, forget hope, just work until I die.
Fulfillment lost, happiness forgone, isn't it time to ask why?

Maybe it's time to change direction on this path I now trod,
Yet the darkness within is keeping me from moving on,
But Jesus is there waiting for me, tenderly, lovingly.

With gentle hand he points,
Showing me the way,
Onward down the narrow path,
Encouraging me not to stray,

The darkness lifting, the light forgiving, leading me to God's illumination,
Holy Spirit inspiration, the Gospels, the Book of Revelation,
Encouraging me to move on.

Warm, compassionate, that's what I'll be.
It's time to do God's work, it’s time to persevere, that's what I need.
Remember dreams; believe in Hope, God's work will lift me up.
Fulfillment found, happiness regained, God's work does not go awry.

I, David

I, David, with polluted hands,
Ask for forgiveness,
From God our Creator,
Who made woman and man,

I have lusted, I have murdered,
I have killed men in war,
Can you forgive me?
Or my life, will you abhor.

It is for this reason,
Your temple I cannot build.
And my son You have chosen,
Your will to be fulfilled.

You have chosen me to be king,
And you make no mistakes,
Anointed by the Prophet,
For this very thing.

I ask you why you chose,
One who would have polluted hands?
To be the second king,
Over this Your promised land.

And yes you were with me,
When I killed the bear,
Then the lion came,
His life I did not spare.

And then one day,
My brothers I went to see,
I heard Goliath’s roar,
As loud as he could be.

I remembered how you used me,
To kill the lion and the bear,
To protect the fearful flock,
So the lambs they could not tear.

Now I know my duty,
To kill the beast, Goliath,
To save the nation Israel,
God’s people to be spared.

The Preacher's Sermon

"We are weak!", the preacher said,
"And our natures are full of flaws,
Succumbing to temptation has made us dead,
When of Christ we should be awed.

A spiritual funeral we should have,
Culminating from everything bad,
Because Jesus we didn't seek,
Nor were we ever meek.

People have given in to sin,
Never letting Jesus in,
Their heart doors closed to His voice,
Because they have made their choice.

For Jesus died a terrible death,
In order that we may know what's true,
We need to fight for spiritual breath,
Even though the Spirit will woo.

Eternity with Christ's at stake,
in order to avoid the lake,
Tis now to God we must turn,
In order to avoid the burn.

Repent! Repent!", the preacher said
"Repent! Repent, if not you're dead!
Dead in spirit, dead in sin,
Dead to eternal life you've been.

If you want a life that's pure,
Turn to Jesus to be sure,
To escape the fiery pit of hell,
To avoid the devil's lake as well."

Life After Death

Now I see the light,
As it blackens all around,
I cannot feel any fright,
For the Savior, I have found.

Now I see His face,
Glory filled the room,
Now I feel His grace,
For me, there is no doom.

I now walk up the stairway,
I hear the angels rejoice,
Now I start my endless day,
For I made heaven my choice.
